    Torque is defined as the turning effect of force about the axis of rotation. In short it is a moment of force. It is represented by τ. The amount of torque required to produce an angular acceleration depends on the distribution of the mass of the object. It is calculated as follows:

    torque = (moment of inertia) (angular acceleration)

    torque = 1.00 (100) (1/60) / 10

    torque = 0.1667 N∙m
