    Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by an object that is in motion. It is calculated by one half the product of the mass of the object and the square of its velocity. We calculate as follows:

    KE = mv^2/2

    KE =.150 kg (39 m/s) ^2 / 2

    KE = 114.08 J
