The average speed of 1.95 meters per second is about the average speed of the winner of the 200 meter freestyle world record setter. My average speed would be about. 55 meters per second at best. A friend on the shore would see me as swimming at. 50 meters per second if the current I was swimming against were. 05 meters per second.
