How does Newton's second law of motion apply to launching rockets into space?

    Newton's second law tells use how much an object will accelerate given a net force. The acceleration is determined by net force and the mass of the object. If a rocket has a lot of mass, it will require a lot of net force. If the rocket does not have a lot of mass, it will not require as much net force to launch into space.
