    You multiply 1.50 tmes 103 to get the rectangle width and 2.30 times 106 to get rectangle lenghth then multiply the width times length

    1.50 x 103=154.5

    2.30 x 106 = 243.8

    243.8 * 154.5 = 37,667.1

    I think you intend for those numbers "103" and "106"

    to be powers of ten ... 10³ and 10⁶.

    So, if I am not barking up the wrong tree, the exercise

    goes like this:

    Width = 1.50 x 10³ cm

    Length = 2.30 x 10⁶ cm

    Area = (length) x (width) = (2.30 x 10⁶ cm) x (1.50 x 10³ cm)

    = (2.30cm x 1.50cm) x (10⁶ x 10³)

    = 3.45 x 10⁹ cm²

    = 3.45 x 10⁵ m²
