When the glass road is rubbed with silk clothes, it get charged positively. When it made contact with the metallic rod, the positive charge is transferred to the metallic rod (The wooden post will have no effect because it doesn't interact with charge on metals). When the metallic rod make contact with ground with intact glass rod, all the charge transfers to the ground because of the high negative potential of Earth, So, in the end all the net charge become zero.
