    Explanation:

    When forces acting on an object are balanced the object is said to be at equilibrium. Unbalanced forces causes an object to accelerate, such that if two forces acting on an object are an equal, then the object will accelerate towards the direction of the greater force. On the other hand, when forces acting on an object are balanced, the object will be in a state of equilibrium and will not accelerate. Therefore, when forces are balanced acceleration is zero and the velocity of the object will remain constant.
