    Kinetic Energy = (1/2) (mass) (speed) ²

    101,000 J = (1/2) (1200 kg) (speed) ²

    Speed² = 101,000 J / 600 kg

    Speed² = 168 and 1/3 m²/s²

    Speed = √ (168 and 1/3 m²/s²)

    Speed = 12.97 m/s
