x=-6
Explanation:
-6+5 (1-x) = -13-7x
-6 + (5) (1) + (5) (-x) = -13+-7x (Distribute)
-6+5+-5x=-13+-7x
(-5x) + (-6+5) = -7x-13 (Combine Like Terms)
-5x+-1=-7x-13
-5x-1=-7x-13
Step 2: Add 7x to both sides.
-5x-1+7x=-7x-13+7x
2x-1=-13
Step 3: Add 1 to both sides.
2x-1+1=-13+1
2x=-12
Step 4: Divide both sides by 2.
2x/2=-12/2
x=-6
