A slab of concrete with an unknown mass slides down an inclined plane that has an angle of 0.56 rad to the horizontal. Assuming that the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.39, What is the acceleration of the slab down the slope in m/s2

    When a body slips down an inclined plane, force of weight acting on it in downward direction = mgsinθ., m is mass, θ is inclination of plane.

    reaction force of the floor = mgcosθ

    friction force preventing its motion = μ x mgcosθ, μ is coeffiecient of kinetic friction

    net force on it = mgsinθ - μ x mgcosθ

    acceleration = net force / m

    = gsinθ - μ x gcosθ

    = gsin. 56 -.39 x gcos. 56

    = 9.8 x. 53 -.39 x 9.8 x. 84

    = 5.194 - 3.21

    = 1.984 m / s².
