- - Earth's average distance from the sun is about 93 million miles.
- - Mars' average distance around the sun is about 142 million miles.
- - So, as both planets travel in their orbits around the sun, the distance
between them changes, between (142 - 93) = about 49 million miles
and (142 + 93) = about 235 million miles.
