You want to pull a 10 kg block up a frictionless ramp with an acceleration of 2.5 m/s2. What force do you need to apply along on the block along the direction of the ramp's surface if the ramp is angled at 30 degrees above the horizontal?

    Net force acting on the block = F - mgsinθ

    F = force required.

    From Newton's 2nd law of motion,

    F - mgsinθ = ma

    F = m (a+gsinθ) = 10 (2.5+9.8*05) = 74 N
