A roller coaster takes energy to make the first rise, but then it should be able to run the course of the track without any input of energy. This, however, is not true. Energy continues to be needed. This is because some of the energy is converted to sound energy, and some is given off as heat energy. This is a good example of which law?

the first law of thermodynamics

the second law of thermodynamics

the third law of thermodynamics

the zeroth law of thermodynamics
