A car accelerates from 13 m s to 25 m s in 6.0 s. what was its acceleration? how far did it travel in this time? assume constant acceleration.

    Acceleration = 2.0 m/s^2 Distance = 114 m The acceleration is the difference in velocity divided by the time. So A = Initial velocity B = Final velocity T = Time (B - A) / T (25 m/s - 13 m/s) / 6.0s = (12 m/s) / 6.0 s = 2.0 m/s^2 Now distance is original speed multiplied by time plus half acceleration multiplied by time squared, giving D = 13 * T + 0.5 A T^2 D = 13 * 6 + 0.5 * 2 * 6^2 D = 13 * 6 + 1 * 36 D = 78 + 36 D = 114
