1. Do you think the U. S. Supreme court was correct to halt the recount and to declare Bush as the winner, even though Gore had won the popular vote? Explain your answer

Supreme court is correct to have halt the recount this because according to constitution, no new way of counting can be used outside the one that have been specified by the authority in any states and if it will be done it cannot be within a limited time. Bush asking for a recount after the machine recount would not have changed anything except the law is revisited. Since, the highest decision making body is the supreme court all investigations have been made and halting the recount is the best according to the law.
