Alleys are prone to burglary. This is because, alleys are places with less police patrol and where many robbers, addicts and others in bad social situations can accumulate. In the event of a robbery, it is important that the victim does not try to react, to deliver what the assailant is demanding and not to try to run, as this can be dangerous for the robber victim.

Based on this concept, I came to the conclusion that the victim exposed in the question entered the alley and a stranger tried to assault her. With that, the woman was nervous and confident in her abilities decided to run and get rid of the assault, but the assailant started shooting (which explains the presence of gunpowder in the alley), one of these shots hit the woman who died.
