    The anti-federalist was a political group that advocated for limiting government's influence over the state.

    They believed that the initial draft of the constitution did not provide a strong enough safeguard which make it vulnerable for government officials to find loopholes that can be used to abuse individual liberty.

    This is why they wanted the inclusion of the bill of rights. The Bill of rights acted as the first 10 amendment within the constitution. All of it guarantees that the government cannot use its power to violate citizens' liberty.
