What are the roots of sociology? Why was it developed and where?

The exact origin dates of the science are unknown but are believed to have base sometime near 400-300 BC (maybe even before). The first recording of observation occurred around 1086. Many sources consider 14th century Ibn Khaldun as the "Father of Sociology".

Sociology was later coined by French philosopher of science, Auguste Comte in 1838. He is regarded as the originator of the modern-day style of sociology.
