Power sharing is a system of governance that ensures the division of power between the key political segments of the society or organs of government as the case may be. There are many advantages of adopting power sharing approach in politics. These advantages include:
1. It reduces the possibility of conflicts in government since every major segment of the government in fully represented and involved in the political decisions of the government.
2. Power sharing also strengthens political stability in the society and promotes democracy.
3. Power sharing removes the feeling of marginalization in governance, thereby leading to more political productivity and good governance.
4. Power sharing promotes the principle of self governance since no organ or government is seen as superior over the other, and cannot take unilateral decision on issues that concern the society.
5. Power sharing promotes equal representation and lead to accountability and transparency in governance.
