If P (A) = 1/3 and P (B) = 1/6 and A and B are mutually exclusive envents, what is P (A and B) ?

    They are mutually exclusive, therefore both events cannot happen at the same time ... P (A and B) = 0

    an example of a mutually exclusive event would be picking marbles out of a bag that contains red marbles and green marbles. If you pick only one marble you will get either red or green, but you will never get a marble that is red AND green. Does that make sense?
