The Constitutional Convention was taking place between May 25 to September 17, 1787, in Philadelphia, in the building formerly occupied by the Pennsylvania State House and currently known as the Independence Hall.

Among intended plans for the convention was the revision of the league of states and introduction of the other improvements to the first system of government. Meanwhile, the key participants of the Convention shared the idea that it is necessary to create a new government instead. George Washington (February 22, 1732 - December 14, 1799), who was advocating for the stronger national government, was elected as President of the Convention.

As a result of the Convention, the Constitution of the United States was created after the tedious debates over several issues that have need to be agreed upon. The finished version of the Constitution was put to the vote and finally released for further debate and ratification on September 17, 1787.
