B. Describe the pattern of unemployment across Germany

Germany's seasonally adjusted harmonised unemployment rate edged up to 3.5 percent in March 2020 from an upwardly revised 3.4 percent the previous month. This was the highest jobless rate since March 2018, as the number of unemployed rose by 0.7 percent from the previous month to 1.53 million while employment fell 0.8 percent to 42.50 million. Youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers under 25 years old, ticked higher to 5.6 percent in March, the highest in four months.
