    One challenge that a representative would face when connecting with rural constituents as compared with urban constituents would be that of identifying the issues that most concern them.

    For example, if a representative mainly promoted ideas that would only benefit cities (such as improving city streets, or reducing traffic), the rural constituent might feel as if the candidate did not understand him or his life. This would most likely lead him to vote for another candidate.
