The shorter axis located near the east end of the church is called transept. It is part of any building which is transverse that lies across the main body of the edifice. In churches, it is a location set crosswise to the nave in a cruciform or as called cross shaped building inside the Romanesque and Gothic Christian church architectural traditions. Each partial of a transept is recognized as semi transept and transept divides the nave from the sanctuary, apse, choir, chevet, chanel which cross the nave at the crossing that belongs equally to the main nave axis and to the transept.
