Many aspects of The Wizard of Oz have remained part of our popular culture, from the songs in the film to Dorothy's iconic red shoes to phrases like "There's no place like home."     One of the main reasons is because the film is so popular (it was recognized as one of the first colour feature films).

    This would make the film a modern staple despite its age.
