Gregorian Chant is named after Pope Gregory I who composed all of the known Gregorian Chants. had his name put on the first printed edition of the Gregorian Chant hymnal. was credited by medieval legend with having created it, even though it evolved over centuries. wrote the harmonies and instrumental parts for all of the chants.
