    Answer and Explanation:

In the story of "The Lord of the Rings", there was a lot of hatred between the dwarfs and the elves. Gimli, who was a dwarf, remained unimpressed and distrusted the elves and Lady Galadriel. However, on meeting the elves and Lady Galadriel, Gimli's perception about Galadriel and the elves changed and led to a change in his attitude after Galadriel make a thought-provoking comment about the dwarfs.

    According to the story:

"She (Galadriel) looked upon Gimli, who sat glowering and sad, and she smiled. And the Dwarf, hearing the names given in his own ancient tongue, looked up and met her eyes, and it seemed to him that he looked suddenly into the heart of an enemy and saw there love and understanding. Wonder came into his face, and then he smiled in answer."

After this comment from Lady Galadriel, Gimli had a different perception about the elves, and appreciated their land and forests.
