What are the characteristics of humanist renaissance of philosophy

Hey. So I am not 100% sure. But if I remember good, Humanist philosophy is as it sounds Humanistic. It marked a shift from the all-powerful religious institutions which provided a context of all, to a more Human/individually based view, where mans responsibility and involvement gained importance.
