Which was more difficult to determine (latitude or longitude) and why?

A. Latitude, because it was difficult to see the North Star on cloudy nights

B. Longitude because you needed a chronometer and it hadn't been invented yet

C. Latitude because it was difficult to get a good reading with the compass
