The Retenor Morpho butterfly is among the fastest butterflies in the world, and is almost impossible for birds to catch. The blue color is thought to be a signal to birds that chasing them is not worth the effort. Almost all species of morpho butterflies are fast fliers and are bright blue. What type of mimicry is this?

    Bateisan mimmicryBatesian mimicry is a form of mimicry where a harmless species has evolved to imitate the warning signals of a harmful species directed at a predator of them both. It is named after the English naturalist Henry Walter Bates, after his work on butterflies in the rainforests of Brazil.
