Desert biomes are the driest of all the biomes. In fact, the most important characteristic of a desert is that it receives very little rainfall.

The driest biome in terms of precipitation is Antarctica It is so cold that the precipitation does not evaporate. The driest in terms of water moisture present is the tropical desert.
