The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (H. R. 6) was signed into law by President Bush on August 8, 2005, the first major piece of federal energy legislation since the Energy Policy Act of 1992. Minimum renewable fuels standards (RFS) are mandated for most refiners, blenders, and importers of gasoline.
