For example, the effect of the thyroid on the hypophysis is negative feedback or feedback inhibition.

Hypophysis produces the hormone TSH to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce its hormones (T3 e T4). To not exceed the quantity of T3 e T4, these hormones will inhibit the hypophysis so that it stops or decreases the release of TSH, thus reducing the stimulation of the thyroid.
