According to Le chatelier's principle an increase in pressure would affect a gaseous system in that; the side of the equilibrium with fewer moles of gases is more favorable and with a decrease in pressure in volume, the side with more moles is more favorable. Additionally; changing the pressure of a system containing gases in equilibrium may result in the position of equilibrium only if there are more gaseous molecules on one side of the equation than the other.
