How does our sun compare to other stars in terms of brightness and temperature?

The Sun is a typical main sequence star. Stars come in a wide range of sizes and brightness's, and there are a lot more small dim ones than large bright ones. So there are a lot more stars smaller and dimmer than the Sun that there are bigger and brighter brighter. And most stars less bright than the Sun are too far away to be seen without a telescope. Almost all naked eye stars are intrinsically bigger and brighter than the Sun. Only a very few stars with intrinsic brightness equal to or less than the Sun are visible without a telescope.
