    The phosphorus cycle refers to the movement of phosphorus from the environment to the organism and then back to the environment. The soil based view of of the phosphorus cycle refers to the process of weathering of the phosphates from the rocks and its eventual organic decomposition. The global view of phosphorus cycle refers to the movement of phosphorus from the land sediments to the sea and then back to the land again.
