    In order to tell any meat is fresh, they must be of the following:

    a. The fat is soft and its colors range from cream to reddish-white. For beef, it is mostly red. Yellow meat can be a sign that it is not fresh.

    b. The muscles and tendons hang tightly to the bone.

    c. The hole you make when you press your finger on the meat closes back up and your palms stay dry.
