Function depends on structure since several of the proteins in the human body are folded a certain way (by molecular chaperone proteins) which gives the proteins their structure. Now because the proteins are folded a certain way, they have certain specific functions. If a protein is not folded and structured a certain way, it cannot carry out its function (its job) completely or even at all sometimes and the job of proteins is necessary for human survival. So indeed function depends on structure. Let me know if you want to know more on how proteins are folded and why they are folded the way they are! its really fun!
