What is the process by which an rna strand is converted to protein called? what is the role of the codon in this process? how are codons and amino acids related?

    Translation: when mRNA becomes a protein.

    Codon: a set of 3 bases in mRNA that represents 1 of the 20 amino acids.

    Codons of an mRNA join with corresponding codons of tRNA to create a complete sequence of amino acids joined by a peptide bond. Ribosomes release the chain of amino acids which then folds into a protein. The entire process is called Protein Synthesis
