Why are glycoproteins said to be peripheral?

    They are said to be in peripheral because they are in the extracellular side and they are mostly involved with the inter cellular recognition and to be able to protect as they are serves as a protective coat, they also are responsible of maintaining the membrane’s asymmetry.
