Vision is to the occipital lobe as hearing is to the temporal lobe. Temporal lobe and optical lobe are among the four lobes of the cerebral cortex. The temporal lobe processes memories, integrating them with sensations of taste, sound, sight and touch. The occipital lobe on the other hand is responsible primarily for vision. The other two lobes are the parietal lobe; responsible for processing information about temperature, taste, touch and movement, and the frontal lobe that is important for cognitive functions and control of voluntary movement or activity.
