Why do plants produce more carbon dioxide than oxygen during the night?

    Because oxygen comes from photosynthesis and for photosynthesis to take place, a plant needs sunlight. Therefore, Without sunlight, the plant can not preform photosynthesis to make oxygen. The reason it produces carbon dioxide is because thats cellular respiration, which Does Not need sunlight to take place.
