Gonorrhea is an STD affecting anything related to throat, rectum and private body parts. Doxycycline is an antiobitic curing bacterial or protozoan infections. As for gonorrhea, CDC recommends a dose of ceftriaxone with 250g first, then 100mg of doxycycline or 1g of azithromycin orally twice a day for 7 days.

There are two ways of taking Doxycycline, directly ingesting the capsule or by opening the capsule and administering with applesauce. Due to its ability to cause abrasion in the esophagus, it should be taken with at least eight ounces of fluid. With the applesauce, it is important that the nurse measures the contents and ensure that the patient drinks the full glass of fluids.
