What anatomical feature is responsible for the cervical enlargement of the spinal cord?

    This is the widening of the central part of the spine that connects the nerves corresponding to the upper limbs. This is caused by the increased neural input and output to the upper limbs. It extends from third cervical to the second thoracic vertebrae.
