Gymnosperm in Latin are seed-bearing vascular plants, such as cycads, ginkgo, yews and conifers, in which the ovules or seeds are not enclosed in an ovary. The word " gymnosperm " comes from the Greek word gymnosperms, meaning "naked seeds"
