Can an artery carry deoxygenated blood? Can an artery carry deoxygenated blood and why?

    The answer is no. For mainly the aorta, it definitely no because this main artery sends blood all throughout the parts of the body. An aorta can be allowed to carry deoxygenated blood, IF there is a defect in the heart which no one would like.
