    Hepatic portal vein is a blood vessel that transport or carries blood from the gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract to the liver. Blood carries by hepatic portal vein contain toxins and nutrients extracted from the digested contents. However, hepatic portal vein is formed by the confluence of the superior mesenteric and splenic veins.
