Why is the Califonrnia coast at risk from tsunamis?

I think the California is at risk from tsunamis because it is near the coast and it is very easy so it can have tsunamis

California is at risk due to the tectonic plates that are divided in California. The plates spread from the state itself and the bedrock of the ocean of the coast. When the plates move, it causes big waves to hit the shores. A big movement in the plates will cause a tsunami.
