Mules, the offspring of donkeys and horses, are commonly used as pack animals. Despite the existence of mules, horses and donkeys are considered separate species. Which discovery would change that thinking and define horses and donkeys as the same species?

    Well there is no possible way for them to be technically the same species. However, when you mate a horse and a donkey then you get offspring which shares DNA from both animals, but the only downside is that offspring is unable to reproduce itself. If we discovered a way to make a mule fertile then we would have a solid link between species which has traits of each.
