Where does photosynthesis occur in a leaf? state which organelles carry out photosynthesis and which type or types of leaf cells have this organelle?

    Chloroplasts are the organelle that contain chlorophyll and carry out photosynthesis. In the leaf, palisade cells contain the largest number of chloroplasts per cell and are the primary sites of photosynthesis. In addition, the spongy mesophyll cells also perform photosynthesis.
